The list of visitors to South Carolina for this Saturday is gradually coming together, and one of the “most wanted” prospects who will attend the Texas A&M game will be 2028 QB Brady Quinn (6-1 195) of Fort Lauderdale. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s named after the former Notre Dame quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst, as his parents are big Irish fans.
However, he has strong family ties to the Carolinas. His mother is from Greenville, SC, and attended NC State, where she was valedictorian. He has an aunt who lives in South Carolina, and his grandparents live in North Carolina.
Brady first drew interest from the Gamecocks at a camp in 2025. Then offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Shula liked what he saw and offered. After Shula was fired, the communication between Brady and the Gamecocks dropped off. Now, current OC and QB coach Kendal Briles has picked up on the recruiting and has also made his offer to Quinn.
“When Coach Briles became the quarterback coach and the OC, he came down to Chaminade during the spring and came to one of my spring practices,” Brady said. “He offered me there. They kind of re-offered me. And ever since then, I’ve been in constant communication with them. They’ve been showing a lot of love and have decided that they’re definitely one of my top schools. So I’m really interested and excited to get up there for a game for the first time.”
Quinn has been a quick study when it comes to Brady, and he’s impressed by what he has seen.
“I love his energy. As a person, he’s really cool,” Brady said. “For the offense, what they’ve been able to do the last three games, I think stands out a lot. They’ve performed offensively at a high level against some really good defenses. And I feel like the quarterback play has been pretty great the last few games. I just want to see that on Saturday and see if they can keep going.”
Obviously, when watching the Gamecock offense, Brady has his eyes focused on quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
“I got a little bit of him in me,” Brady said. “I like to use my legs, move around in the pocket, run when I need to. I like running, but my coach doesn’t like it when I run, doesnt want me to get hurt. But I’m definitely a runner. I like to make plays with my feet, extend plays, throw on the run, all that type of stuff.”
This season, Brady has also been to games at Florida State, UCLA, Purdue, and UCF. After visiting USC this weekend, he plans to make game visits to Vanderbilt and Notre Dame.
“South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Purdue, UCLA, I’ll say those are the big five,” Brady said. “I want to have a chance to come in and compete early. I want to have a great relationship with the coach, and I just want to feel comfortable wherever I go. And I want to be in a good system to be developed, because my end goal is the NFL. I want to be put into a good system where I can learn and develop and go to the NFL.”
Brady is not going to wait much longer on a decision. He plans to make a commitment after his season and will be targeting a date in December or January.
He will bring his entire family with him to Columbia this weekend, including his mother and father, brother, and grandparents. They plan to arrive on Saturday morning and stay through the weekend. By the way, his older brother, Carter, is a cancer survivor who returned to playing football this season.
This season, Quinn has completed 71% of his passes for 2478 yards and 31 touchdowns with four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 285 yards, averaging 9.8 yards per carry, with four touchdowns.
